My Story

Hello, I am running the Amsterdam Marathon this October 16th to raise money for Keep a Girl in School, a program part of the Wentworth Africa Foundation.

I am passionate that girls worldwide are supported throughout their education and provided with adequate resources. By raising money for the Keep a Girl in School program, we will help to provides sanitary products to girls across Tanzania. With just £20, you can support a girl with enough menstrual products for an entire year.

The Wentworth Africa Foundation started this program when teachers reported girls were missing three to four classes each month during their menses due to nonaccess to female hygiene products. This adds up to 30 to 40 missed days per school year. A girls’ inability to manage their menstrual hygiene in schools results in school absenteeism, which in turn, has severe economic costs on their lives and on the country as a whole.

Since the beginning of the program, over 650,000 hygiene menstrual products have been delivered to girls, and teachers are reporting improved school attendance.
